Moderated by former U.S. Congressman Tim Penny, the Council brought together nearly 300 participants and invited guests to help find common ground with a focus of "strengthening community care for older adults and their families." The Council is currently reviewing feedback from participants and synthesizing results into next steps. In the meantime, information is available on the Aging Policy Exchange for download. Visit the Council's website at www.mnlcoa.org and click on "policy" for the presentation slides and handouts from the speakers. Watch for more information from the Council as the legislative session beings in 2007! =========== The Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging (MNLCOA) coalesces the resources and power of consumer, advocacy, social and health service organizations, to advocate boldly for and achieve positive system changes for older adults and their families in Minnesota. The Leadership Council formed in 2004 around its key organizing agenda to advocate for the strengthening of home and community-based services. The Council was actively involved in shaping policy at the state level during the 2005 legislative session supporting efforts to develop an adequately funded, cost-effective, community care system that ensures quality of care and quality of life for older adults. =========== General information about the mailing list is at: http://mailman.stpaul.visi.com/mailman/listinfo/mnlcoa You can also make such adjustments via email by sending a message to: Mnlcoa-request at mailman.stpaul.visi.com with the word `help' in the subject or body (don't include the quotes), and you will get back a message with instructions. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
